Taking classes in bellydancing is a relatively easy, low-impact way to work out and help reshape your body image. My students burn up to 500 calories a class, laugh, have fun, and make new friends!
CURRICULUM: The "Cornerstones of Belly Dance" (Level 1) is an all-levels group class. We learn proper dance posture, isolation of the upper and lower body, strengthening the core, and a vocabulary of basic movements. These movements are used in all belly dance styles including American Cabaret, Egyptian Orientale and Tribal Fusion.
You will also learn combinations, choreography, musicality, and the history of this dance and it's origins. Class size varies from 3 to 8 students, and everyone gets personal attention.
CLASS ATTIRE: Yoga pants, tank top, socks or dance shoes, a yoga mat (available at Walmart for $5.00) and a bottle of water. Coin scarves are preferred for beginners and Serafina always has a good selection available starting at $15.00 each.
